Dear Cas,
One month! While you're still mostly eating, sleeping and going to the bathroom, I feel like we’re starting to form a nice connection. You seem to notice many things around you and have become more interactive everyday. For the last week we’ve been doing the dream feed together and it’s one of my favorite parts of the day with you as it’s just us and no distractions. It feels like a great bond is forming with a look in your eyes that shows me you are comfortable and safe and thankful for the evening meal. You’ve had several trips to a baby chiropractor to help with your shoulder dystopia and appear to be more comfy gazing around in all directions. Your cries are getting louder and your squeaks and other noises give me the faintest taste to what your voice may start to sound like. So far we’ve been to Denver and back, but are hoping to do some real adventures with you in the next couple months. Mom is starting to take you on daily hikes in the backyard for fresh air and a lot more of those will happen until winter comes. It’s been amazing to see how you fit inside our existing family dynamic and to see the beginnings of your relationship with your sister. (Even if she did give you a cold days after you were born.) We are so thankful you’re with us finally and have loved everything about this first month.
Here’s to the next one,
-Dad
