Creative Director

Capital Goods

Denver, CO // September 2017 > April 2017

Creative Director

We're a small yet mighty team that's proven we can handle accounts that typically require an army. Probably because we all have awesome beards.

Eddie Bauer gave me the chance to continue to hone and finesse my social media skills. I worked on several video production projects, but spent the bulk of my time reshaping the brands social program, building a balanced cadence calendar, integrating in additional social campaigns and collaborations, and even the nitty gritty task of composing all of their social posts.

Taos was more traditional work that consisted of leading a full rebrand, building brand guidelines, and executing it on most mediums ranging from new website, email marketing, outdoor, national print and online, point of sale to tradeshow and vehicle fleet designs.

Clients: Eddie Bauer, Taos Ski Valley

Founder, Director

The place to come to learn to not suck in advertising. I took on the role Creative Director at Amélie Company and in order for me to learn more about my role I sought outside help in the form of underground group discussions from industry leaders, called ONCE.

Anywhere // November 2014 > January 2015

Creative Director, Art Director

This business has shown me that advertising can change, or even save, lives. I've been fortunate to have worked on a plethora of behavior change campaigns with smaller budgets, but all of which have had a very useful reason why. I've also had the privilege to discover how adding a purpose can transform a brand and strategy.

A few of the places I freelanced at during this period:

Ad Hack (School, Victors & Spoils, EVB, Anthem Branding, Glover Park Group, Grenadier)

Burton Snowboards

Clients: Quiznos, Food Corps, Connect For Health Colorado, Eating Recovery Center, Burton Experience Snowboard Tour

In early 2014, I joined School as the Creative Director. School is a relatively new startup from the minds of a couple ex-Crispin Porter Bogusky alums that is known for being an "agency with a purpose." Meaning all the work done for our clients gave the staff the chance to build schools for countries in need. School is striving to become the first advertising agency to win a Nobel Peace Prize. And lastly, we brought purpose into our clients projects.

About Gordon Seriously

MY NAME IS Gordon, seriously.

Everyone’s heard the “same old story” so to keep it simple, I don’t want tell the same old story. I strive to create a story that stands out and has a purpose. If a story has a purpose it can change minds and behavior.

I've been making things for clients at various brands and ad agencies since 1999. My best ideas come to me in the shower, on the toilet or on my bike (not in any particular order). My desk is for responding to email or pushing pixels, not ideating.

In short, I'm an ideator and collaborator that has experience in marketing, planning, public relations, broadcast, print, ooh, radio, digital, experiential, social and events. Beyond thinking about what's next for brands and how to tell their stories, I am passionate about cycling and skiing.

To me, nothing compares to seeing the world from the saddle of my bicycle. Or the view from the peak of a mountain knowing you hiked uphill to earn those turns back down. Both challenge me and both can remove me from safeties of what may be considered the norm. But in the end, my philosophy is I'd rather enjoy the ride than get there first.
